German Art Nouveau… Jugendstil from ‘Der Moderne Stil’

Imagine my delight when a friend asked me if I wanted a box of old German books and in it was  ‘Der Moderne Stil’ published by Von Julius Hoffman Jr. in Stuttgart, Germany. The book was full of  pictures of modern style furniture, pottery, bookplates, jewelry, metalwork, wallpaper and illustrations by artists from all over Europe. The modern style for Julius Hoffman Jr. was art nouveau or Jugenstil in German and here are my favorite selections:

About redbudart

I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, just outside of Portland, Oregon. My usual interests are cooking, wine, horticulture, art, and old books, but lately I've been obsessed with saving for a piece of land, so I can practice sustainability and learn to live as close to the land as possible, and then help others to do the same. To relax I listen to Dharma talks. Namaste!
