Southern Exposure

Here are a few of my favorite southern things, collected over the years.

This map is from the fifties It was lettered by hand and drawn by hand. I like that!

I love the colors on this old map of Florida, and how isolated and deserted the Everglades were when it was printed, which was around the turn of the century.

another great old black and white map

and another one with beautiful colors. It says Indian Territory just above Texas on the left.

I went to a great wedding at the historic Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee.

And Kentucky was my home for two years. I was fortunate to live in a beautiful historic italianate mansion near the river. And though sadly much of the stereotyping about Kentucky is reality, I do miss my old Kentucky home.

About redbudart

I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, just outside of Portland, Oregon. My passions are cuisine, wine, horticulture, art, and my two grown children who couldn't be farther away, and couldn't be any more wonderful than they are. I moved here in 2014, work a day job in finance, and spend the rest of my time working on my dream of living off the land, and teaching young people how to as well. Stop by my Etsy shops, where all proceeds are going towards the goal. Thank you and Namaste!
